Greeting our new students, I say: “It is a great honor for you to become students of the Atyrau Oil and Gas University named after S. Utebayev, the only specialized university in Kazakhstan in the field of oil and gas.

About faculty
"Basic Faculty" is a new structural subdivision of the NJSC " Atyrau Oil and Gas University named after Safi Utebayev ". It was created in 2020 on the basis of the Faculty of Economics, Business and Information Technologies by the decision of the Board of Directors.
The idea of creating a faculty is dictated by the current vital requirements of society. It is through the general humanities (history, philosophy, sociology, political science) and natural science (physics, mechanics) knowledge, as well as through the improvement of language skills and practices (Kazakh language, Russian language, English) that students can successfully develop and improve their intellectual potential.
The mission of the faculty is to lay the foundations for the professional activities of future specialists who are able to think strategically and creatively, to develop their intellectual and scientific research potential.
Strategic objectives of the faculty:The functions of the faculty are teaching humanitarian, physical and mathematical and general technical disciplines, which occupy a special place in the education of specialists with a philosophical outlook, who know the history of their people, respect their traditions and customs, who speak several languages, since the humanities remain the yardstick of the spiritual health and cultural potential of a modern society with enduring priorities and values.
BenefitsThe faculty orients the first-year student towards the formation of fundamental qualities that will be vital for him in the process of successfully mastering his future specialty. General humanitarian and natural-scientific knowledge acquired by a student at the Basic Faculty is a way for him to understand himself as a highly developed personality, capable of positioning himself in the role of a modern manager.

The faculty prepares bachelors in educational programs in accordance with the state compulsory education standards and international standards, the requirements of the relevant profile and qualifications. The activities of the Faculty of General Education are based on the mechanism of interaction between classical and modular educational programs that ensure the successful development of 1st year disciplines.
The following sectors function within the faculty:To ensure the educational process and conduct scientific research, the faculty has a modern physics laboratory, 1 computer class, classes for the study of languages at the Center for Scientific Technologies named after N. Balgimbaeva, the Palace of Sports, a sports complex, a tennis court and a volleyball court.
Scientific research is carried out on promising problems of social, humanitarian and general technical sciences.
The faculty cooperates with leading universities in Kazakhstan, as well as near and far abroad, including KazNU named after al-Farabi, West Kazakhstan University named after M. Utemisov. ASU named after Kh.Dosmukhamedov, Caspian State University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh. Yessenov, University of chemistry and technology (Praque), Polytechnic University in Turin (Italy), Higher State School of Vocational Training (GHSPE) named after Jan Amos Komensky ( Republic of Poland), Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after Gubkin (Russia), Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (Russia), Ufa State Oil Technical University (Russia), Kalmyk State University named after B.B. Gorodovikov (RF , Elista), Astrakhan State Technical University (RF, Astrakhan), Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry (Azerbaijan).
The leadership of the faculty is focused on high-quality training of specialists, the expansion of scientific activities, the introduction of information and technical innovations in the learning process.
