About faculty
The Oil and Gas Faculty was among the first, which was formed in 1990 in the structure of the Atyrau Oil and Gas University and was called the Oil Faculty.
Faculty history
1990
Education of the Oil and Gas Faculty
Subsequently, on the basis of the oil faculty, "technological" and "economic" faculties were created, now the two leading faculties of the university, therefore the oil and gas faculty deservedly has the status of "Kara shanyrak".
In the same 1990, the departments "Geology", "General Physics" were formed. In the same years, the departments "Drilling of oil and gas wells", "Development and operation of oil and gas fields" were formed.
2015
As part of the implementation of trilingual education at the university in 2015, an English-language department with a degree in Oil and Gas was opened at the faculty.
Since the 2015 academic year, the Polygon educational program has been implemented at the Atyrau Oil and Gas University. Currently, within the framework of this program, the faculty is successfully developing dual training in bachelor's specialties 5B070800 - "Oil and Gas Business" and 5B070600 - "Geology and Exploration of Mineral Deposits" together with JSC Embamunaigas, LLP Zhigermunayservice, LLP KazNIGRI. A special contribution to the implementation of dual education is made by Embamunaigas JSC, the first partner and the first enterprise through which graduates of this program were graduated. Thanks to dual training, students are provided with opportunities for obtaining theoretical education, as well as practical skills directly in production.
2015-2016
Within the framework of the State Program for Industrial and Innovative Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the faculty trains bachelors in the specialty 5B070800 - "Oil and Gas Business" under the educational programs: "Development and operation of oil and gas fields" and "Production and preparation of well products.".
Modern laboratories
In the educational process of students, the most modern laboratories are used. To improve the quality of personnel training, a new generation of laboratory equipment “Virtual Field” was purchased. This is a unique equipment used by students of the oil and gas faculty.
On the basis of the Center for the Development of Communication named after N.U. Balgimbaev has unique laboratories, simulators, digital stands for drilling, production and field treatment of oil and gas, which are used for practical and laboratory studies of students.
Faculty laboratory rooms
- Oil and gas well survey
- Drilling simulator АМТ-221 ",
- Well workover simulator AMT-401 ",
- Virtual field
