Scientific areas and research projects of the University

The role of science in cooperation with companies for an industrial university has the following key aspects:

Research and development (R&D): Industrial universities are engaged in scientific research to expand knowledge and develop innovative technologies. Cooperation with companies allows them to align their research with industry needs, solve practical problems and promote technology development. This cooperation can lead to joint R&D projects in which academic researchers and industry experts work together to explore new scientific horizons, develop new products, improve existing technologies or optimize production processes. During the reporting period in 2024, 14 projects were developed and submitted, including 7 projects with state grant funding and 1 project for commercialization with funds from the Science Foundation.

Industrial science: Comprehensive scientific research for scientific and research-based solutions to systemic technical and technological problems of an enterprise or industry. Industrial science formulates scientific and scientific-technical justification for ways to improve or solve technical and technological problems of an enterprise or industry with evidence-based testing of pilot, small-scale or model-technological scale. This will allow, at the research and development level, to formulate and systematize scientific justification for potential scaling or prototyping of the results of evidence-based testing.

14 projects have been developed and submitted applications, including 7 projects through R&D with private companies, of which 4 received funding.

Transfer of knowledge and competencies: industrial universities serve as channels for the transfer of scientific knowledge between academia and industry. Through cooperation, they can share their scientific experience, discoveries and technological achievements with companies, helping them to keep abreast of the latest scientific discoveries and innovations. Such knowledge transfer can increase the competitiveness of the industry, promote the implementation of technologies and support companies in solving complex problems.
