About University

Today the University is actively implementing the integration process "Education-industry-science-business", which is based on the approximation of the training infrastructure to the real conditions of production through the introduction of modern technologies in the educational process.

By the order of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the University became the first Center for Sectoral Technological Competencies of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which provides expert support on technological innovations in the energy industry. The University is entrusted with the function of expert support of digitalization projects and the development of experimental educational programs in the "professions of the future".

Among the first universities in the Republic of Kazakhstan, it successfully started the implementation of paragraph 80 of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated September 14, 2020 No. 413 "On measures to implement the Address of the Head of State to the people of Kazakhstan dated September 1, 2020" Kazakhstan in a new reality: time for action "by signing patronage agreement over the University with Atyrau Oil Refinery LLP. As part of the implementation of this agreement, the Institute of Petrochemical Engineering and Ecology was opened in December 2020, the structure of which includes a training center and research laboratories, on the basis of which applied research is carried out for subsoil user companies. 15 chemical laboratories were fully modernized and the AXANS catalytic reforming units were transferred.

The university is a leader in the pace and quality of the introduction of dual education in the higher education system. On the basis of the university, work is being carried out jointly with the authorized bodies and НПП "Atameken" to form a model of dual education for students of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Industrial Committee, represented by the top management of industrial companies in the region, is successfully involved in solving strategic problems, organizing dual training, its representatives participate in the formation of curricula and assist in the employment of graduates. In January 2021, with the participation of the global company Ernst and Young, the University's experience was broadcast to Ukrainian universities.

An industrial training ground is being built at the University - an unprecedented platform with samples of industrial installations for the introduction of technologies for the extraction and transportation of energy resources, electric and alternative energy in the educational process and science. The landfill project was developed with the support of KazMunayGas JSC and EmbaMunayGas JSC.

In February 2020, an educational hub "West Hub" was created on the basis of the University, which united schools, colleges, universities of the region into one system, which contributes to increasing the competence and general literacy of students in secondary schools of the Atyrau region. "West Hub" is becoming an incentive to intensify the process of interaction between secondary schools, colleges and higher educational institutions, to improve the quality of education in the region, making it a continuous process. In January 2021, a center for preparing schoolchildren of the Atyrau region for the UNT was opened. The center employs teachers of the highest category and leading university professors.

Caspian SDG Hub has united more than 10 universities in the Caspian region. On its basis, work is underway on the project "Development of a map of the sensitivity of the Caspian Sea to environmental factors." Joint research projects are launched, the Caspian Sustainable Development Network University is being created.

The University is one of the developers of the industry project "Atlas of New Professions and Competencies" in the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, organized by the KAZENERGY Association. The Atlas has been published and work is underway to develop miner programs aimed at not realizing the profession of the future.

The process of placing divisions of companies on the territory of the University is in progress. At the moment, the laboratory premises of "KMG Engineering" have already been located, where work is underway on geological and hydrodynamic modeling of an oil reservoir..
