The University Board of Trustees (hereinafter referred to as the Board of Trustees) is a permanent collegial advisory body of self-government, uniting trustees on the basis of their common desire to make a feasible contribution to the development of the university; to contribute to the formation and implementation of its strategy, to increase competitiveness in the domestic and international markets of educational services.
The Board of Trustees operates on the basis of the principles of voluntary membership, equality and transparency. Decisions of the Board of Trustees on issues outside its exclusive competence are advisory.
The Board of Trustees closely interacts with the Board of Directors, the Academic Council and the University Administration.
The main task of the Board of Trustees is to provide all-round and effective assistance to the University staff in solving current and future tasks of its development, including assistance in:
- the functioning and development of the University as a center of education, science and culture;
- in ensuring the competitiveness of the University in the Kazakh and international markets of educational services and scientific research;
- strengthening the financial and material and technical base;
- organizing and improving working conditions for teachers and other workers;
- development of the material and organizational-methodological base for the educational and scientific activities of the University;
- expanding the University's relations with government, public organizations and institutions, oil and gas enterprises of the region, employers, the business community;
- development of international relations of the University, international cooperation in scientific, educational and engineering activities of the University;
- dissemination of information about the work of the University, including in the media;
- organization of cultural, sports and health-improving events of the University;
- social protection of students, faculty and staff of the University.
