Memorial plaque of the Zhamauov family unveiled at the “Wall of Oilmen’s Glory” in the Museum of Atyrau Oil and Gas University

The Museum of Atyrau Oil and Gas University hosted a solemn ceremony to unveil a memorial plaque inscribed with the name of the Zhamauov family on the “Wall of Oilmen’s Glory,” reports AtyrauPress.

According to the university’s press service, the event became a vivid demonstration of respect for the veterans and their dynasties, who made a significant contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry and the country’s economy. Today, the “Wall of Oilmen’s Glory” immortalizes the names of about 100 oilmen who dedicated their lives to their profession and to the nation.

The ceremony was attended by public and industry representatives, veteran oilmen, faculty, and students. Chairwoman of the Board – Rector of Atyrau Oil and Gas University named after S. Utebayev, Gulzada Shakulikova, delivered a congratulatory speech, emphasizing the importance of preserving the labor traditions of oil dynasties as an example for the younger generation.

At the event, Zhumabek Zhamauov – an oilman with more than 40 years of experience, holder of the “Kurmet” Order, and Honorary Citizen of Atyrau region – shared his memories of his career. Greetings were also conveyed by Murat Perzadaev, corresponding member of the Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and holder of the “Kurmet” Order; Nurlan Omarov, General Director of “Semey Machine-Building Plant” JSC and deputy of the first convocation of the Parliament of Kazakhstan; as well as Nurgozha Chinyaev, holder of the “Ush Bi” badge of honor of the Union of Judges of Kazakhstan.

This event marked an important step in preserving the memory and honoring the people who left a bright trace in the country’s history. The “Wall of Oilmen’s Glory” stands as a symbol of eternal recognition of those who made a significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry.
