A Day of Discovery to the Sounds of the Dombra

As part of the Summer Industrial School, an inspiring and memorable day was organized for students from the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation — a cultural program dedicated to the Day of the Dombra.

The program included:

• An engaging story about the history and cultural significance of the Kazakh national instrument — the dombra;
• A conversation about the spiritual bond between the dombra and the Kazakh people;
• Live performances of national kyuis and master classes by skilled musicians;
• A demonstration of traditional Kazakh cuisine preparation, followed by a tasting session.

The main goal of this event was to introduce international students to the rich cultural heritage of the Kazakh people and share the value of national traditions and hospitality.

The captivating sounds of the dombra and the aromas of traditional dishes left a lasting impression in the hearts of the guests, offering them a deeper understanding of Kazakhstan’s soulful and welcoming culture.

It is worth noting that currently 40 students from China and the city of Tyumen, Russia are undergoing internships in Atyrau. The Day of the Dombra became one of the most memorable moments for them in getting acquainted with Kazakh national values.
