On May 14, 2025, representatives of Atyrau University of Oil and Gas paid an official visit to China’s Karamay Vocational and Technical College. This meeting marked an important step towards strengthening partnerships between educational institutions of Kazakhstan and China.

Since August 2024, a joint project named "Jinshi Institute" has been successfully implemented. As part of this project, Chinese language courses have been organized for students of Atyrau University of Oil and Gas, providing them with opportunities to establish close academic and professional ties with Chinese partners.

During the meeting, both parties discussed prospects for further cooperation. Starting from September 2025, it is planned to launch specialized courses in petroleum engineering and drilling.

Following the negotiations, an agreement on expanding the partnership was signed. The key focus was on enhancing collaboration in science and education. One of the proposals included establishing a joint scientific laboratory based at ATU.

Additionally, an agreement was reached to implement a "3+2" program for students of Karamay College: three years of study at the college and two years at Atyrau University of Oil and Gas. This initiative will provide students with new opportunities for quality education and hands-on experience in the oil and gas sector.
