A Dissertation Council Has Been Established at UTEBAYEV UNIVERSITY

UTEBAYEV UNIVERSITY has taken another important step as one of the leading research centers in Kazakhstan’s oil and gas sector. The university has now officially joined the ranks of institutions authorized to award the PhD degree.

By the decision of the Committee for Quality Assurance in the Sphere of Science and Higher Education under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a dissertation council was established at the university in the field of training "8D071 – Engineering and Engineering Work".

The newly established council will organize doctoral dissertation defenses for the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the program “8D07101 – Chemical Technology of Organic Substances, Machines, Apparatuses, and Equipment”.

The doctoral programs in “Oil and Gas Engineering” and “Chemical Technology of Organic Substances, Machines, Apparatuses, and Equipment” have been functioning at UTEBAYEV UNIVERSITY for three years now. During this time, young researchers have been actively engaged in scientific projects and progressing in their dissertation research.

UTEBAYEV UNIVERSITY Rector Gulzada Shakulikova emphasized that the opening of the dissertation council is a major achievement not only for the university but also for the scientific community in the region.

“The establishment of the dissertation council is the result of the joint efforts of our entire team. This decision will give a strong boost to the development of scientific research at both the regional and national levels. It also opens broad opportunities for young scientists to defend their work and contribute to the advancement of science,” said Gulzada Shakulikova.

The new dissertation council is a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the university’s scientific and innovative potential, enhancing its international reputation, and training highly qualified specialists for the oil and gas sector.
