Digital Week officially opened at UTEBAYEV UNIVERSITY

Today, Digital Week was officially launched at UTEBAYEV UNIVERSITY. The event was attended by the university leadership, faculty, students, as well as experts and guests from the IT sector.

At the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by the Rector of the university Gulzada Shakulikova, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies Shynar Kodanova, and Head of the AI HUB Center Akmaral Abdigalieva. They emphasized the importance of digital transformation and the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the country’s future.

The main theme of this year’s Digital Week is Artificial Intelligence. This technology is already widely used in education, healthcare, science, and business. The event also highlighted the special attention given to this area in the 2025 Address of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The Head of State set the goal for Kazakhstan to become a regional leader in Artificial Intelligence and Big Data. Supporting this strategic initiative, the university has opened an Artificial Intelligence Center (AI HUB) under the Faculty of Information Technologies. The new center will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange and research for students, young scientists, and startupers.

In addition, as part of Digital Week, a student project exhibition was held in collaboration with the JasUP educational project. The exhibition showcased innovative ideas and technological solutions from future IT specialists and young researchers.

Digital Week is a significant contribution of the university to the country’s digital future. Such initiatives play an important role in fostering digital culture and preparing students for the new technological era. The Head of AI HUB, Akmaral Abdigalieva, noted that this project serves as a platform for effectively combining education and technology.
