On June 23, 2025, the traditional Summer Industrial School – 2025 started at Atyrau University of Oil and Gas named after Safi Utebayev (AUNG). The program will last for three weeks, until July 12, 2025, and will include visits to 18 enterprises, 2 plants, and 2 oil fields in the Atyrau region.

Thanks to the university’s unique industrial status and professionally-oriented educational programs with dual training throughout the academic year, AUNG has built an effective synergy between academic education and practical training at production facilities. More than 90 regional companies are actively involved in the program.

Based on its successful model of continuous professional training, AUNG decided to share its valuable industrial education experience with students from other universities through this Summer Industrial School program during the vacation period. This is a unique opportunity for students from non-oil regions to get closer to real industry practices. This year, students from Nazarbayev University, KBTU, Satbayev University, as well as from Russia, Azerbaijan, and China, are participating in the program. Among them are 33 international students from Tyumen State University, Tyumen Industrial University, Astrakhan State Technical University, and China University of Petroleum Karamay.

The program is completely free for students thanks to the support of industrial partners such as Embamunaigas, Bolashak, KMG Engineering, CaspiMunaiGas, Tengizchevroil, SLB Schlumberger, KPI, ANPZ, NCOC, Worley Parsons, KMG Burgylau, and others.
