The Dissertation Council for the Defense of Doctoral Dissertations at the NAO "Atyrau University of Oil and Gas named after Safi Utebayev" (Order of the Chairman of the RSU "QUALITY ASSURANCE COMMITTEE IN SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN" No. 1442 dated August 20, 2025) was approved for a period of 3 years in the following areas:
8D07101 - "Chemical Technology of Organic Substances, machines, devices, and equipment"
In accordance with the requirements of the Model Regulation
Approved by the Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 31.03.2011 No. 126 (as amended by the Order of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 14.06.2024 No. 294):
Paragraph 3. "In the OVPO, dissertation councils are established for 3 (three) calendar years and function if there are doctoral programs in the relevant areas of training:
- licenses and (or) appendices to the license to engage in educational activities under the doctoral program;
- doctoral degree educational programs in the Register of Postgraduate Education educational programs for the last 3 (three) years in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 22 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Education";
- doctoral degree programs accredited for a period of at least 3 (three) years and included in the Register of accredited educational programs of organizations of higher and postgraduate education in accordance with subparagraph 21) of paragraph 15 of the Regulations on the Ministry;
- the presence of a contingent of students under a state educational order in the field of training in the 1st (first), 2nd (second) and 3rd (third) years of study, allocated in accordance with subparagraph 3) paragraph 15 of the Regulations on the Ministry for the last 3 (three) years."
Point 5. "The dissertation council consists of no more than 7 people. All members of the dissertation council have a degree or an academic degree.
The Dissertation Council has 4 permanent members, including the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Academic Secretary.
Additionally, 3 members of the Dissertation Council are appointed temporarily for the period of the doctoral candidate's defense, depending on the field of doctoral research."
